Specific protocol for ESL
The prevalently applied wireless protocol, such as Bluetooth, Wifi, Zigbee and so on, were designed for a variety of use scenarios, which tackles specific use domain, but not for ESL applications. The protocol we designed caters especially for ESL, which, comparing to those traditional technology, does its work more efficiently and power frugally.
A precise clock alignment mechanism
After association of ESL and its AP, ESL will be aligned to AP’s clock, and will keep being aligned even though it enters into sleep mode. At certain time when ESL wakes up again, it can swiftly sync to the AP by the clock alignment mechanism, which can dramatically save the power of ESL.
Adaptive frequency hopping mechanism
Our solution, which works in 2.4Ghz wireless band just like Bluetooth does, support adaptive frequency hopping mechanism. The hopping channels were, evaluated by, and broadcasted from AP to ESL to abate the RF interference, which can smoothly work in a RF noisy environment.
OTA in broadcast mode
Using our proprietary wireless protocol, the OTA could be done in broadcast mode, vastly enhancing the number of devices that needs to update its firmwares.
Link setup easy, data transfer quick
Sparing the three way, four way hand-shacking protocol to setup the wireless link just like Bluetooth and Wifi did, ESL link establishment protocol is easier, quicker and provides a more data efficient transporting layer, which on the other hand saves power for the device to communicate.
A massive network capability
One AP could manage more than sixty thousand ESL, a capability unparalleled for Bluetooth and Wifi.
